What Is Somatic Work?
Somatic therapy modalities are body-centered modalities that looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both psychotherapy and physical therapies for holistic healing. In addition to talk therapy, these body-centric approaches work by helping to release stress, tension, and trauma from the body.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. It accesses trauma trapped in the subcortical brain, the area of the brain responsible for motion, consciousness, emotions, and learning. It supports the understanding that, "Where you look affects how you feel". During a Brainspotting session, you can say as much or little as you feel comfortable! Read more about Brainspotting.
